Season 2022-2023

FTC PowerPlay was the 2022–2023 FIRST Tech Challenge game, where student-built robots competed on a 12-by-12-foot field by placing cones onto vertical poles called junctions to score points. Matches included an autonomous period with pre-programmed robot actions followed by a driver-controlled period, during which teams earned points by controlling junctions, forming connected paths called circuits, parking in specific areas, and capping junctions at the end of the match.
This season’s robot was designed to be smooth, reliable, and efficient, using linear slides to effortlessly lift cones to the highest junctions. Its Delrin claw, reinforced with surgical tubing, provided a secure and controlled grip for clean cone placement, while the mecanum wheel drivetrain allowed the robot to move fluidly around the field. The overall design remained clean and purposeful, avoiding unnecessary gimmicks while still featuring subtle LED-lit wheel covers that added a sleek, polished finish.
