This season's robot used linear slides to lift the cones high, reaching the top pole easily.  Its Delrin and surgical tubing claw gave us a firm grip around the cones to lift and drop as we please, with a sturdy meccanum wheel drive base to get us where we need to go.  This robot was very simple and didn't have many gimmicks, other than some nice LED lit wheel covers.
