Into the Deep is the 2024–2025 FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) game, themed around underwater exploration, where student-built robots work into alliances to collect “samples,” turn them into “specimens,” and place them in scoring zones on a submersible structure. Matches begin with an autonomous period where robots , followed by a driver-controlled period, and finish with endgame where robots can park or climb the submersible. Teams earn points for collecting samples, scoring specimens, and successfully parking or ascending.
Our robot performed rapid and efficient cycles from the substation to the high basket, making it a vital offensive asset for our alliance. It was also capable of a level 2 ascent, thanks to our precisely machined Delrin hooks. After a strong showing at the Thumb Wars Qualifier, we advanced to the Wisconsin State Championship, where we finished 8th in the qualifying rounds, though we were not selected for the playoff matches.
